The course provides practical training designed to help you prepare for a career in motor cycle maintenance. It is designed for the student to gain practical experience in the servicing, maintenance & repair of a range of motor cycles. Theoretical work will be undertaken in all areas to complement and reinforce the practical experience. Functional Skills in maths, English & IT will be a compulsory part of the course, along with a personal and social development qualification.

Course programme
How will I study?
engine lubrication, engine cooling, fuel and exhaust systems, spark ignition systems, electrical systems, braking systems, transmission systems, steering and suspension systems, wheel and tyre systems and engine operation principles. If you are a full time student aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme which will consist of your main course, enterprise and enrichment activities, English and Maths as well as work experience.
How will I be taught?
The course is delivered over 2-days of practical & ½-day of theory (including Functional Skills & tutorials).
How will I be assessed?
Through practical assessments, short text papers & oral questions, all of which are used to check underpinning knowledge throughout the course.
