The Napoleonic era saw huge upheavals – political, social and military – across Europe. The English Romantics
responded vehemently and eloquently to revolution, repression, war and their consequences at home and in France,
Italy and Greece. We shall consider the variety of these responses, and how the poetry illuminates the times, and
vice-versa.
Biography:
Peter Brennan is a poet, and was for many years Head of English at The Latymer School, Edmonton. He founded
