Introduction

Course Content
There are 4 Units arranged as follows: UNIT1 :Interpreting all types of tickets manual tickets, electronic tickets, automated OPTAT/TAT and APD tickets
UNIT2: Defining IATA geographic areas, Global indicators and airline coding system
UNIT3: Identifying the lowest applicable fare using normal and special fare types
UNIT4: Constructing fares using the fundamental principles of the mileage system
- Define IATA geographic areas and Global Routing Indicators.
- Interpret various airline codings.
- Determine country information including passport, health and visa requirements.
- Identify differing fare types and their characteristics.
- Select the lowest applicable fare for point to point itineraries with reference to fare rules.
- Calculate fares applying the fundamental principles of the mileage system.
- Issue single and conjunction tickets manually for normal and special fares to IATA standards.
- Complete MPDs/MCOs for airport ticket issue.
- Construct fares using NUCs and the IATA Rate of Exchange for a range of currencies.
Course is conducted on full-time and part-time basis.
On successful completion of the course students receive a Virgin Atlantic certificate accredited by IATA leading to 10 IATA points.
