Visual Merchandising (16-18 Year Olds)

This hands on, creative, and practical course teaches the basic principles of design and window display key to Visual Merchandising. You’ll look at the importance of display and design to articulate the brand and attract the right customer, in order to maximise sales, setting the role of Visual Merchandiser at the heart of retail operations. Along with colour and trends, you’ll look at the importance of laying out a fashion retail store, identifying customer flow, focal points, and store landscaping.

The course includes:

• The history of retail display and visual merchandising
• Recognising a store with great customer experience
• Profiling a customer to a specific brand
• Demonstrate basic grouping
• Demonstrate styling a mannequin
• Create a mood board for concept presentation
• Design a retail window display
• A field trip to local stores and a visit to a Mannequin Company

Level:

Beginners. You should have an interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required.

Booking:

Your course place is confirmed once you have booked online or via the phone using a credit or debit card. There is no deadline for booking. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis, and all courses have a maximum number of students. We suggest you book early to avoid disappointment.
