Vocational Studies Level 1 Entry Requirements

• A range of GCSEs at E - G
• Evidence of ability to progress to level 1
• A sense of responsibility and an attitude that is suitable for learning and the industry is essential
• A keenness to progress onto level 2

Content The course is made up of a variety of units that will enable progression to First Diploma in Sport, Travel or Uniform Public Service courses. Examples of units to be delivered are: -

• Introducing customer service
• The healthy body
• Developing IT skills
• Planning trips
• Personal effectiveness
• Starting work in your industry

Additional qualifications will also be studied and will form an important component of your course, providing additional qualifications . Key Skills will also form part of your course and transferable skills which play an essential role in developing personal effectiveness for adult and working life. These are Communications; ICT and Numeracy.

Assessment
This course is designed to encourage you to develop the personal skills and qualities needed for work and learning, helping you to achieve your full potential. A variety of learning methods will be used to make lessons fun and interactive, e.g. group discussions, designing leaflets, guest speakers, and group presentations. You will be provided with the chance to explore the opportunities offered in a variety of sectors.

Progression
This course is for learners who need a level 1 qualification in order to progress onto their chosen vocational area at level 2.

Addtional Costs
Upon induction, uniform will need to be purchased at approximately £16 and £20 for compulsory study trips.
