This course will provide students with a greater understanding and appreciation of Walton’ music – both the ideas that lie behind his works and the ideas contained within. Tutor: Karen Betley.

- Identify the key stages in Walton's’ life- Identify the ideas – both musical and non-musical - that influenced Walton throughout his career- Identify the formal, harmonic and melodic characteristics of certain key works by Walton.
Please bring a notebook and pen.You may wish to buy some of the music or books recommended in class.
