2. Course description The course will establish a range of watercolor techniques used in painting animals through the use of step by step exercises. Trying various painting techniques used to convey animal concepts and forms.You will learn and practice the use of line, tone, colour, texture, composition and brushwork.Gain confidence in using both drawing and wash methods and be encouraged to take part in group discussions.Have access to one to one support.The overall aim is to help you develop and complete an animal painting using the techniques practiced.

3. Entry requirements All abilities Those with some experience of drawing & painting would be helpful but not essential. Useful for those who need a refresher as well as those with little experience.We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Equipment required Bring whatever drawing & painting materials you may already have purchased. Also pencils, eraser, A3 watercolour pad/paper, a basic set of watercolour paints, brushes, palette, tissues and water jar. You may also like to bring some of your own pictures and photographic images of animals. 5. Assessment method Not available
