2. Course description The course will cover a range of drawing techniques and mark-making using pen and ink, as well as tips for mixing colours and laying washes of watercolour paint. The overall aim is to help you develop an expressive pen & wash painting of a seascape. You will learn through a mixture of discussion, demonstration and practical work. Select from various photos for reference. Gain confidence in drawing and painting skills. Watch group demonstrations and receive one to one support from the tutor through all the steps. Complete a finished painting or even two!

3. Entry requirements All abilities, including complete beginners. Some experience of drawing and/or painting in watercolours would be helpful but is not essential. Useful for those who need a refresher, as well as those with little or no previous experience. Individual guidance from the tutor ensures all will achieve an effective finished result. We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Equipment required You will require watercolour paper; watercolour paints; brushes; pen/s with permanent ink. A full *equipment list will be sent out to all learners enrolled on the course which will give more information. (If you already have some equipment - bring what you have if it is similar to the list) Materials are kept to a minimum on one-day workshops and the tutor will have some *items available for loan or purchase on the day.
