This course is for those who are new to web design or have some previous experience and wish develop their understanding of the subject area. The course will introduce the principles of the underlying code that makes web pages (HTML and CSS), file management for a web site, the essentials of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), linking pages, image file types for a web page (jpeg, gif, png), inserting images and uploading a web site to a server to form a presence on the world wide web.Throughout, the course will make use of the web authoring software Dreamweaver. Students will be guided through the essential features of the software in order to create and upload a basic web site.

Each student has their own computer (Apple Mac)
Presentations will be made using computers, overhead screen and printed notes.
There will be step by step instruction, demonstrations and practical exercises.
As this is a short course there will be no homework.
