Work Experience Sandwich

What is this course?

Avalon’s NCFE work experience Sandwich Course is designed to provide students with a valuable opportunity to gain work experience in a UK company. Also, it provides the student with the opportunity to improve their level of English to a very high standard. Avalon can provide two types of placements:

Paid – These placements are in hospitality and can be anywhere in the UK.

Unpaid – These placements are in professional sectors and are usually in London

Students can suggest their preferred area of placement, but must be flexible as to the position within that area of work. Students must also be prepared to be placed anywhere in the UK, including Scotland and Wales. Flexibility is the key to being placed.

Students can choose between the length of study and placement. Placements are at least 12 weeks and can be up to 49 weeks long.

On successful completion of course portfolio and placement, students will be awarded with an NCFE level 2 certificate in Employment Skills.

How will I be taught?

This course begins with an intensive NCFE element at the beginning, followed by the work placement. The intensive period lasts five hours per day for two weeks. This is the base cost quoted on Avalon’s price list. If a student would like a longer study period before the placement, additional costs will apply.
