Course programme

Course Content: This three-day (full-time) course is flexible around each learner's needs and their placement. One day is spent at College and the remaining hours are within a workplace. Initially learners will participate in job-matching activities, travel training (if required) and work placement tasters. Stretching learning goals are set, including in English and maths. How will I be assessed? Learners will keep a work skills/ experience log book which is assessed throughout the year. Maths, English and a personal target will be reviewed every half term. Learning support needs will be assessed by the employer, lecturer and support team on a regular basis. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? You will be asked to make a voluntary contribution to trips throughout the year and may be asked to provide some personal safety equipment for the workplace. You may be entitled to extra funding but you will still be able to claim benefits for your day-to-day life. What can I do after this course? You can progress to a meaningful voluntary placement or paid employment.
