The course will enable you to increase your reflective and critical learning skills, and show how these can be applied to “real life” settings with youth and community organisations in Birmingham and the West Midlands. This will be achieved through approximately 800+ hours’ worth of placement opportunities in the field, ensuring you graduate with vast experience in the sector.

You will have an opportunity to explore a range of subjects that are relevant to young people and communities such as sexual and mental health, substance use and abuse, crime and rehabilitation, housing and homelessness and the environment. This type of modular approach enables you to engage with a range of subjects and graduate with the bespoke skills you need to pursue specific youth and community roles after graduating.

On completion, you will be able to apply theoretical and practical skills in a range of jobs in areas such as youth work, social welfare and social justice, community development and housing, health and education. These areas require multi-skilled professionals who can engage in a variety of different multi-agency settings.
