CPCS – A17 – TELESCOPIC HANDLER FOUNDATION TRAINING

Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) - a card scheme to prove the skills of plant operators. CPCS is the largest and most highly recognised card scheme for the plant industry.

It helps to prove workers' operating skills and health and safety awareness.

The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) provides a single skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry.

Aims

To give foundation training and assessment towards a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS).

Content

· Operating the machine on all normal tasks for which it is designed

· Deciding whether a particular load is safe to lift

· Carrying out routine servicing procedures and maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer`s instructions

· Preparing and driving the machine on public highways, and loading it onto a transporter in accordance with the requirements of the Road Traffic Acts

· The purpose and capabilities of the machine and any relevant safety precautions necessary for its operation

· How the machine works and the maintenance requirements involved

· The effect of load, size, weight, gradients and ground conditions upon machine stability

· The loading, storage and transit of representative materials

· The basic construction of pallets

· The permitted loading of scaffolds

Completion Certificate
Upon successful achievement of both the Theory and Practical Tests delegate will receive a CPCS Trained Operator Card which is valid for two years.

Please be advised that in order to undertake this course you will need to supply the following information at the time of booking: delegate’s full name, date of birth, national insurance number, CITB number and the date that the CSCS Operatives Health and Safety Touch Screen Test was passed. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ALL DELEGATES MUST HAVE A VALID CSCS TOUCH SCREEN TEST OR THEY WILL BE UNABLE TO SIT THE COURSE AND NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED.
