NEC Personal Tutor
Subject Specialist
NEC has selected a team of professional tutors to provide support and guidance to its learners and ensure you get all the help you need to succeed on your course. We use strict criteria when employing our tutors, only choosing those who can demonstrate expert knowledge in their field and who we can be sure will be able to provide the support our learners need. Most of our tutors also work or have worked as teachers and trainers, so they’re used to helping students and are familiar with the difficulties they might face.
Course programme
This course is for anyone looking to develop their critical and analytical abilities.
NEC's 'A' level in Critical Thinking requires students to critically assess a wide range of information.
It will encourage you to formulate and articulate your arguments, and to look at topics from an analytical perspective.
It will be particularly attractive to more mature students seeking access to higher education, but who need to boost their qualifications. It can also be used to support learners on Access, teacher training, Modern Apprenticeships and enrichment programmes.
For 16 and 17 year olds, Critical Thinking is ideal as a fourth AS choice, because the skills it develops underpin and support other 'A' level subjects.
Topics Include
- Unit 1: Introduction to Critical Thinking
- Unit 2: Assessing and Developing Argument
- Unit 3: Ethical Reasoning and Decision-making
- Unit 4: Critical Reasoning
