The animal care industry offers a wide choice of varied occupations with many opportunities for specialism within those areas. As a whole the industry is worth 1 billion pounds to the UK, with 47% of the UK’s population having a pet. It consists of a wide range of businesses from pet shops, boarding establishments and breeders to zoos, rehabilitation, grooming services and various welfare charities. The opportunities are vast.

Course programme
Examples of modules include:
The course involves a series of day field trips as well as a residential. The campus also has an animal care unit and has excellent working relationships with businesses and employers.
Mature learners without formal qualifications, who have worked in or have relevant experience in the animal industry, are encouraged to apply.
Assessment takes place using a variety of methods; coursework assignments, practical activities, individual and group presentations, case studies, reports and examinations.
Learners can continue their studies via a top-up BSc (Hons) Degree in an animal-related subject or, alternatively, seek employment in the animal care industry.
