This innovative and highly vocational degree programme has been designed collaboratively with local, national and international employers to provide the knowledge, skills and qualification requirements for higher Engineering Design and R&D roles within the Automotive industry. The specialist nature of this programme provides graduates with niche skills that allow them to contend for positions with the Automotive industry’s highest profile employers within Automotive Research, Development, Manufacture and Quality Assurance. Our alumni have forged successful careers with companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, Ford Motor Company, Bentley, Lotus, M-Sport and Westfield Sportscars. Others have opted for postgraduate study, such as Lancaster University’s MSc Mechanical Engineering.

Course programme
This BEng top-up is the Level 6 progression for students who have completed the Foundation Degree in Automotive Engineering and Technology (Automotive). This Automotive degree covers the aims of the QAA Benchmark Statement for Engineering and the learning outcomes are based on those published by the Engineering Council in the UK; the standard for professional Engineering competence (UK-SPEC).
The course is made up of three subject specific modules and a dissertation and further develops your knowledge and skills in areas previously studied at Level 5.
