Study Computing at GCU and find degree level IT jobs or progress to postgraduate computing studies. This IT course is flexible. HND holders can apply directly into year 3 and there are opportunities for you to specialise in areas such as mobile development, software security, big data or UX user experience design. Course programme

HND Computing (Software Development) including either: Database Design Fundamentals; Relational Database Management Systems; or Database Design and Programming in SQL.

Plus* either Software Development: Developing Websites for Multiplatform Use or Web Development Dynamically Generated Content.

OR

HND Computer Science including: Software Development: Object Oriented Programming; Software Development: Object Oriented Analysis and Design; Software Development: Data Structures.

It is expected that successful applicants would have achieved grade A in both of the level 7 and level 8 Graded Units which make up their group award profile.

*Applicants without this requirement-05-still be eligible for entry, but will have a restricted elective pathway choice.


SQA Higher: BBBB plus Nat 5 English and Maths at C

A level: BCC plus GCSE English and Maths at C

ILC Higher: B1 B1 B2 B2 plus English and Maths at Ordinary Level at B1. Maths is required at Ordinary Level B1 if not taken at Higher

IB Diploma: 24 points BTEC: Level 3 Extended Diploma in relevant Computing subject at DMM
