The direct aim of the course is to enable you to develop your conceptual, creative and practical skills and to encourage flexibility, knowledge, skills and motivation as a basis for future studies and career development.
The course will provide you with the opportunity to develop your own personal vision and ideas to explore areas of critical interest and will encourage you to develop the depth and breadth of your skills. Critical studies are integrated throughout. You have access to well-equipped studios and workshops including painting, printmaking, wood, metal, ceramics, plaster workshops, photographic studios, darkrooms, digital technologies and computer suites. The visual arts sector is diverse and highly rewarding. Opportunities for fine artists exist in areas as diverse as painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, digital technologies and in extensive business opportunities relating to the arts. Homework or private study is required.
