There are no formal entry requirements. Direct entry is possible for some courses. Otherwise, entry is through progression from other courses. As part of the application process all students will be given the opportunity to attend an informal interview. This will allow them to get a feel for the college and discuss their requirements with a member of the Supported Learning team.

Course Content:
The focus is on what you need to know when you first start work in this area. You will study 5 units as follow; Principles and values in mental health work; The experience of mental distress; Effective communication in mental health work; Working in a mental health environment; Developing as a mental health worker.
The Moving Forward Programme at City College is a programme of courses for learners who experience mental health difficulties. We make positive steps to reach out and teach socially excluded groups and engage with the city¿s diverse ethnic and cultural groups.

At the end of each course, students will have the opportunity to discuss their options with a member of the Supported Learning team
