Introduction
There are four computerised reservation systems (CRSs) used by travel agencies: GALILEO, SABRE, WORLDSPAN and AMADEUS. Of these, GALILEO is the best known system.
Course Content
- Encoding and Decoding (cities, airlines and aircraft)
- Flight availability
- Flight Reservations
- Selling air segments
- Retrieving and amending bookings
- Fare displays (Normal and Special IATA fares for adults, infants and children)
- Special requests (seat, meal, wheelchair access)
- Queues
- Hotel and car hire bookings
- Other travel related information such as Visa, Health, Customs and Climate etc.
All classes are conducted hands-on and participants are provided with learning material.
Mode of Study
Courses are conducted on full-time and part-time basis.The course may be combined with other courses as an additional module or taken on its own as a short course (10 weeks).
Course Commencement & Duration
Course commences every September, January, April & July. Part-time courses ranging in duration from three to ten weeks are available.
All examinations are held at LSM but are marked by the appropriate examination body.
