Course description For those looking for a successful multidisciplinary career in computing and systems development; This course has been designed to equip students with the essential skills, techniques and knowledge to enhance their career, progress on to a degree programme or directly into employment. You'll study a range of topics spanning hardware, software and technology, enabling you to become a versatile practitioner., , In the first year you will achieve a Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Computing and Systems Development. After this you can progress directly on to the second year achieving a Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) or pursue the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship., , In year one, you'll study business skills for e-commerce, procedural programming, computer systems, digital image creation and development, employability and professional development, database design concepts, networking technologies and website design., , In year two, you'll look at emerging technologies, systems analysis and design, event driven programming solutions, multimedia design and authoring, object oriented programming, human computer interaction, network operating systems, project design, implementation and evaluation. You will make links with the Microsoft Academy and work towards a server qualification., , After successful completion, you may progress to a degree, such as the second year of a BSC (Hons) Computing, or gain employment in computer networking, technical support, web development or software development. You may also use the skills, techniques and knowledge learned as a springboard for studying towards a vendor specific qualification.,
