Who the Course is For:
This course is designed for those who are looking to develop a clearer understanding of the potential of digital photography and who wish to achieve a qualification.
Assessment:
You are required to attend regularly (at least 85%). You are required to keep class notes, planning sketchbooks and carry out both book and Internet research.
You will be required to meet deadlines for the handing in of assignments, some of which will be carried out in class. You will be required to take photographs in your own time and you will be expected to work on written assignments in your own time.

Course Leads To:
You may consider undertaking a full time photographic course or depending on experience you may consider progressing to the Higher National Certificate in Photography. The HNC is a part time, one day per week, two year course.
Entry Requirements:

Units covered are Location Photography and Creative Photography.
Indicative content: -
Camera Hardware - removable media, resolution, picture format, digital and optical zoom, focussing aids, white balance, exposure. Storing picture files.
Taking better photographs - focus, lighting, flash, composition and framing.
Exploring photographic genres: portraiture, location photography, reportage, and creative photography.
From camera to computer - downloading images, introduction to computer basics, scanning, printing, using image-manipulation software such as Photoshop - cropping, image enhancement, digital retouching, using creative filters, using the text tool.
Investigate the work of photographers - research, analyse and evaluate a variety of photographers work.
