What will I learn?
This course provides the core technical knowledge and practical skills required to work at Level 2 as required by industry. It will teach you how to install electrical systems and equipment. It also includes construction technology, information technology, health and safety, communications and numeracy. After the 1st year you should be able to connect and fix electrical accessories. Route and fix wiring systems and enclosures within an installation. After the 2nd year you should be able to fully install wiring systems, fix wiring enclosures and carry out the basic testing for the circuits.

How will I be taught?
The learning programme consists of 80% theory in the classroom and 20% practical training in the workshop. This course is taught over 2 years.

How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed through course work and six week block assessments, practical and written assignments and an external examination.

What could I do next?
You could progress to the 2nd year to complete Level 2. On completion of year 2 it is possible to progress onto a Level 3 course of study.

How would this benefit my employer?
After the 1st yr. Learners should be able to connect and fix electrical accessories. Route and fix wiring systems and enclosures within an installation. After the 2nd year learners should be able to fully wire circuits and carry out the basic testing for the circuits.
