This course enables students from Foundation Degree and HND backgrounds in equine science, equine business management and related subject areas to develop their knowledge and understanding within a dynamic learning environment.
A unique feature of this course is its high degree of flexibility. In particular it provides an opportunity to pursue advanced studies in the scientific, management and entrepreneurial aspects of the equine industry.

About this course
- A foundation degree or a HND award (merit) in a subject related to the Honours degree.
- Depending on previous studies, you may be required to complete additional ‘bridging’ studies prior to enrolling on the Honours course in order to cover identified gaps in previous learning.

Course programme
You’ll study two cores modules, and complete a dissertation based on a research area of your own interest. This is a chance to study a particular subject in depth which may also be of direct relevance to your particular career aspirations.
You’ll then select four elective modules to further specialisation in specific sector. Those with a science-based background are able to study modules of applied science, to include such subjects as equine nutrition and equine genetics, whilst those with a business management focus can take modules which emphasise business skills, such as understanding the consumer and efficient marketing of products and services.
The course will be delivered through a series of lectures, seminars, group projects, visits, and laboratory demonstrations. Modules are assessed through a range of techniques, including research projects, examinations, presentations, and case studies.
