You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.
What qualification will I receive?
Diploma in Financial Studies.

Progression may be into employment with additional qualifications.
What will I study?
Subjects you will study include: Why Money Matters, Risk and Reward and Making Personal Financial Judgements.
How will I be taught?
Study on this course is in the form of theory and practical sessions. Teaching strategies will include lectures, class exercises, working in groups, research, case studies, video, presenting to a group and discussions.
How will I be assessed?
The course will be assessed three external examinations. A pass must be achieved on all three papers to gain the award.

You will be allocated a tutor who would guide you with timely feedback on your progress, arrange exams and provide you with adequate revision opportunities.
