In addition to being introduced to major types and techniques of visual art, you will gradually be encouraged to develop a "theme" of your choice and to build a portfolio of work using any mixture of techniques.
- You must satisfy the general entry criteria for A Level courses, which are based on your GCSE results.
- In addition, you should have gained a grade C or above in GCSE Art, although students will be assessed on individual merit.
International students:
- Equivalent overseas qualifications will be considered.
- IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in each skill) or equivalent.
Assessment is partly by portfolio (coursework) and partly by exam.
Taken as one of three A Levels, this course can take you to university or other Higher Education institution. You can also progress to more vocational training, such as the BTEC Extended Diploma in Art and Design or a Media course.
