Food and Beverage Service NVQ Diploma Level 2

The hospitality industry is made up of thousands of exciting organisations including hotels, restaurants, food service management, fast food, coffee shops and pubs, bars and nightclubs. The Food and Beverage Service NVQ Diploma Level 2 course is ideal for those wishing to work in hospitality or related industries in a dynamic working environment.

Delivery of this course is through practical sessions in the College restaurants to expose students to the real working environment.

Course Content
Food and Beverage Service NVQ Diploma Level 2 Core units include:

• maintaining a safe, hygienic and secure working environment


• effective working relationships,


• maintaining food safety


• giving customers a positive impression.

Optional units include: silver service, serving hot drinks, preparing and serving alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages and serving food to the table.

Entry Requirements

Relevant experience within the food and beverage industry would be beneficial but not essential.

Career Opportunities

Employment opportunities include the possibilities of front of house positions within the hospitality industry. Progression opportunities include the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision.
