Why should I study A2 Level Physical Education and Sport?
This is the logical follow on to AS Physical Education and Sport and can lead to the award of the full 'A' level and opportunities of employment in the Leisure Industry or an application to HE.

What will be studied on the course?
The course will involve two main aspects of study, these will include a module of Biology and Physiology, an in-depth study of the elite performer, a written piece of course work and a practical Sport assessment.

When does the course start and how long does it last?
The course starts in September and lasts for 30 weeks and covers one academic year.

What qualifications are needed to do the course?

• a pass at AS Sport is required to start this course.

Where is the course based?
The course will take place at the Consett site.

How will the learner be assessed?
Assessment will be by two externally set exams, one externally marked piece of course work and an internally assessed practical exam.

How much will the course cost?
There are no direct costs involved in the course, but practical sports sessions will require appropriate sportswear.

What progression routes are available?

• HE courses in Sport and Leisure are available
• employment in the Leisure Industry
• application to the Uniformed Services are the usual routes after completion of the course
