What will be studied on the course?
You will learn the basic skills of caring for children and how to support their learning in the form of seven units:-
Unit 1 - Personal Development
Unit 2 - Human Growth and Development
Unit 3 - Food and Nutrition
Unit 4 - Health and Safety Practices in the home and group settings
Unit 5 - Caring for Children
Unit 6 - Play and Practical Activities
Unit 7 - Orientation to work programme
What qualifications are needed to do the course?
We expect the learner to have grades E or F for this level 1 course.
How will the learner be assessed?
A portfolio task has to be completed for five of the units. You will also have to complete a multiple choice question paper at the end of the course.
How much will the course cost?
Books and resources are provided in the College Learning Resource Centre, but you may wish to invest in a textbook of your own, as advised by your Course Tutor
