Attendance
You will be expected to attend a minimum of 3 to five days per week, depending upon timetable.

Course description
This qualification aims to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out specialised beauty therapy and spa treatments including micro-dermabrasion at Level 3.

You will be taught through a combination of classroom and salon activities such as practical demonstrations, ILT methods, tutorials and small group work.

Course Structure

• Unit G1-Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety.
• Unit G6- Promote additional products or services to clients
• Unit G11-Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business
• Unit BT17-Provide head & body massage treatments.
• Unit BT28-Set up, monitor and shut down water, temperature and spa facilities
• Unit BT29-Provide specialist spa treatments
• Unit BT31-Provide self tanning treatments
• Unit BT36-Improve the appearance of the skin using micro-dermabrasion
• VTCT Indian Head Massage

Course Assessment
Assessment will include practical observations on paying clients, written questions, mandatory online tests and building a portfolio of evidence.

Course Entry requirements

• NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy
• All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.
