Introduction
This exciting course aims to provide you with the basic knowledge, both theoretical and practical, for a range of careers within the hairdressing industry.

Description
The programme is made up of six mandatory units which are: * Health and Safety * Preparing and maintaining work areas * Maintaining effective working relationships * Shampooing and Conditioning Hair * Blow-drying Hair * Assisting with colouring services Key Skills are integrated within the programme of study including IT, Communications and Numeracy. You are encouraged to attend a work placement of your choice.

One year

Method of Study
Subjects will be integrated and delivered through practical and theoretical teaching. Continuous assessments of practical, oral and written work are compulsory in order to pass each individual unit and gain full certification.

Progression
This basic qualification can lead to further courses such as City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing Additional units include assisting with Salon Reception duties and plaiting techniques. Opportunity to continue to Higher Education.
