Art and Design National Award in Art & Design

Course Description
This 2 year Award is an excellent vocational alternative to an A Level Art and Design qualification, and is suitable if you wish to progress onto University or to employment in the creative industries. The course will develop your technical skills in Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, 3D Design, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Traditional and Digital Photography, as well as allowing you to create a professional and highly personal portfolio of artwork. You will also gain qualifications in Key Skills.

Entry Requirements
You will need to display your portfolio of previous work in an interview with College staff, a test in literacy and numeracy, plus a BTEC First at Level 2, or a GNVQ Intermediate qualification in a related subject, or at least 4 GCSEs at Grades A*-C.

Assessment Methods
All units are graded P (Pass), M (Merit) or D (Distinction). Learners are required to achieve a minimum of a pass grade in each unit to qualify for an overall qualification grade.

Progression
If you want to continue with your studies you could take a qualification at Level 4, such a HND, degree or Foundation degree in Art & Design or this qualification can also prepare you for employment in the creative industries.
