Description of course:
The first year of the course involves a general introduction to print, audio and moving image media. This will involve both the study of professional products such as; magazines, films, radio and exhibitions, as well as the planning, producing and marketing of your own media products. There will be an opportunity in the second year to study print, television, film, video and photography with additional extended units in music radio, music recording and animation.

Method of assessment:
Internally assessed coursework.

Progression opportunities and careers:
Enter media employment at a trainee level. Go to college or University to study for a degree level course for example in journalism or film, video or TV. Start work at an assistant level and undertake a related NVQ or other occupational qualifications.

Entry requirements:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above or a merit/ distinction grade at a Level 2 vocational course.

Specific entry requirements:
GCSE grade C or above in English or a Humanities subject.

Additional qualifications studied:
All full time students will undertake a combination of additional qualifications that will enhance their study skills and those skills that will be important in employment.
