What will I study?
The Health and Social Care course is modular with three modules studied for AS Level:
- Effective CaringEffective CommunicationHealth, Illness and Disease
- Working in Health and Social CareHuman Development: Facts and TheoriesThe Role of Exercise in Maintaining Health and Well-Being
What will I achieve?
You can enter the Health and Social Care industry or progress to Higher Education in areas such as:
- Nursing
- Midwifery
- Teaching
- Social Work
How is the course assessed?
It is a modular course with both external examinations and coursework.
What else will I do?
Trips are arranged to enhance learning to places such as Eureka Play Museum, Thackray Medical Museum and BUPA Health and Fitness Club. Guest speakers come into college to share experience. All students complete work placements in the Health and Social Care industry, for example, nurseries, schools, clinics and nursing homes.
