IT Professionals - Intermediate - OCR Level 2 Diploma with CISCO
This course enables you to achieve two qualifications:
· OCR Level 2 Diploma for IT Practitioners (ICT Systems Support) (iPro)
· IT Essentials Certificate (CISCO).
The course has been designed to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the full range of functions involved in systems support. These include:
· The maintenance of computer systems.
· The installation of hardware and software.
· The testing of systems and the production of customer support
The Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification is designed to enable you to deal with user problems when they phone a help desk for advice. This part of the course will develop your skills so that you can successfully troubleshoot desktop environments running on the Microsoft Windows operating system.

What will I study?
Course units:
· Maintaining equipment and IT systems.
· Providing customer support.
· Installing hardware equipment and systems.
· Operating system support.
· Applications support.

How is the course assessed?
This is a practical, hands-on course. One unit is externally assessed by OCR. Two units are assessed by Microsoft electronic tests and two units are assessed by assignment.

What could I do next?
You can progress to our Level 3 and the CISCO Networking Academy.
This could lead to a career where good IT skills are required but with further training, you could gain employment at supervisory level.
