The Award is the first introductory qualification currently recommended for teachers, trainers and assessors who work in the education and training sector, particularly those new into or wish to get into teaching – they may then go on, if required, to undertake either the Certificate or Diploma qualifications.

The AET is a professional teaching qualification and the course requires your active participation and the completion of coursework assignments which have been approved by City & Guilds. Assessment includes delivering a 20-minute teaching session to the rest of the group. You will need to be able to express yourself effectively both orally and in writing. You will need a qualification or experience in the subject area you intend to teach.
