This course is also offered on 13 July or 4 October 2016. The National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is designed for supervisors and managers within the construction industry and is designed to provide a sound breadth of underpinning knowledge that enables them to discharge more effectively their duties with respect to health and safety in construction activities. The qualification is referenced within the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) for Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 as a key knowledge indicator when assessing Stage 1 competence for CDM co-ordinators. Once tuition has finished, candidates are allowed a week before they complete the exams. There are two exams on consecutive days and candidates have a fortnight to complete the practical element. On successful completion of each of the units, a unit certificate will be issued. In order to achieve the NEBOSH General Certificate in Construction Health and Safety, qualification in each of the three units must be achieved within a five year period.
