MBA International Students must select: One module from: - International Financial Reporting - Accounting for Decision-making - International Strategic Financial Management One non finance module The Capstone module The following descriptions give a brief outline of the focus of each module: Accounting for Decision-making in an International Context Focuses on the role of the accountant within international business decision making, looking at the range of techniques available and how the accountant's role fits with the roles of non -financial managers. Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility: An International Perspective Covers a broad range of aspects including the ethical (theoretical) bases of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility, structures and devices of corporate control and monitoring, contemporary governance issues and the environmental impact of business and ethical behaviour in financial and banking activities drawing on comparisons between different jurisdictions. Global Business Strategy Investigates strategy within an international context. The module assess the impact of globalisation on contemporary organisations, evaluates how managers should respond to different national cultures and assesses the pros and cons of a variety of international market entry options. Global Economics Helps students acquire new skills and economic concepts that they can apply in their daily way of thinking about economic situations. A basic unifying theme will be gains from trade, economic efficiency and incentive structures and the process of globalisation as enhanced by such vehicles as multinational enterprises, consumers and governments. Human Resource Management in an International Context Encourages the manager (current or future) to recognise the role played by Human Resource Management in the effectiveness of the organisation nationally, internationally and globally. International Strategic Financial Management Strategic financial management issues covered include raising finance (both short and long term), efficient allocation and utilisation of financial resources (including investment appraisal), and maintaining control over those resources to ensure objectives are met. International Financial Reporting Develops understanding of financial and management accounting in an international and strategic context. The module looks at the context in which accounting rules have evolved in order to meet the needs of globalisation of both organisations and financial markets. Leadership, Power and Morality Offers insights into leadership as an element in decision-making, problem solving and change management with specific reference to experimenting and developing practical leadership skills in different contexts, coping with conflict, power and organisational politics, the morality of leadership and the ethical dimension in the exercise of power. Marketing in the Global Context Focuses on the rise of 'globalisation' in the marketing arena. The rise in cross-border consumer power is analysed in terms of its implications on the marketing strategies developed by companies. Project Management Across Boundaries Takes project management theory and expands it in an international context. The module considers the cultural aspects in managing across international projects and it appraises different tools and techniques available to aid the project manager in resource management, optimisation and trouble shooting. Capstone Module (Integrated Case Study) The Capstone Module is designed to promote critical thinking and provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate some or all of the following in a practitioner environment: The ability to challenge and question issues in relation to their business and management specialisms. Depth of knowledge which may involve working at the current limits of theoretical, practitioner and /or research understanding. Awareness of and ability to develop solutions to ethical dilemmas. As our aim is to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to pass your exams in the shortest possible time, we have a highly experienced team of lecturers, and a variety of full-time, part-time, revision and day release courses. Whether you wish to study during the day, in the evening or at weekends, we can offer a course at the time which suits you best.

In addition, LCA has been approved by the ACCA to set its own exams at the first level of ACCA, so the Knowledge Module papers (F1-3) are internally assessed. These exams consist of the same papers as those set by the ACCA, and are sat at the same time, but at premises arranged by LCA.
