MEDICAL SECRETARY'S COURSE

Who is this course for?

If you want to gain a recognised qualification to work as a Medical Secretary, Medical Receptionist, Ward Clerk, or Audio Typist etc within the Health Service, this is the course for you.

How long is this course for?

Full-time for 2 years, 4 days each week in College, 1 day each week in work placement.

What will I study?
  • NVQ Level 3 Business and Administration which is assessed through a portfolio of evidence based on work placement experiences in General Practice and in Hospital.
  • AMSPAR Level 3 Certificate in Terminology for Non- Clinical Professionals
  • CLAIT Plus Certifi cate/Diploma
  • OCR II Text Production Year 1
  • OCR II Word Processing Year 1
  • OCR II Medical Word Processing Year 1
  • OCR III Text Production Year 2
  • OCR III Word Processing Year 2
  • OCR II Medical Audio Transcription Year 2

How will I be assessed?
Through a variety of exams, practical assessments and portfolio work.
