Introduction
This course is designed to lead into careers in the animal care industry and related areas. This is an A Level equivalent course and you could move up to a higher level course after you've completed your qualification, if you achieve the relevant criteria.

About the course
The National Certificate in Animal Management is a two year course comprising 12 modules (equivalent to 2 A Levels). You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will develop the necessary skills needed for a future career in the animal industry.
The National Award in Animal Management is a one year course comprising 6 modules (equivalent to 1 A Level) with the opportunity to top-up to a National Certificate

Requirement
National Award: - At least 4 GCSEs at grade C, or - Relevant First Diploma at Merit or above National Certificate: - At least 4 GCSEs at grade C preferably including English, Maths & Science, or - Relevant First Diploma at Merit or above, with biology or health care modules at Distinction and key skills level 1 in two areas (communication, ICT or application of number) For both courses: - 2 weeks work experience is an essential prerequisite - A keen interest in animals is essential
