Course Description: The aim of this programme is to provide students with the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to enhance and develop a career, specialising in the repair and maintenance of small, medium and heavy construction plant, tools and materials handling and equipment. Evidence produced can be used to support a NVQ Award Level 3 Advanced Modern Apprenticeship. The course includes:
Scheduled Servicing and Adjustments: Overhaul and Repair Methods;
Post Repair Testing Methods and Procedures;
Diagnosing and Rectifying Faults;
Using and Allocating Resources;
Methods and Procedures for Inspecting Plant, Tools & Equipment;
Compiling and Using Information to Support and Advise End Users of Plant, Tools and Equipment;
Planning, Organising and Co-ordinating Plant, Tools and Equipment and Maintenance and Repair Activities.
There is also the opportunity to obtain evidence towards essential Key Skills as required by Employers and Training Providers.
