Course Description: The aim of this programme is to provide students with the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to enhance and develop a career, specialising in the repair and maintenance of small, medium and heavy construction plant, tools and materials handling and equipment. Evidence produced can be used to support a NVQ Award Level 2 Foundation Modern Apprenticeship.
The course includes:
Maintenance Workshop Practices;
Plant, Tool & Equipment Servicing and Maintenance;
Diagnostic and Condition Assessment Procedures;
Testing Procedures;
Removal and Replacement of Components and Assemblies;
Component Dismantling;
Measurement, Examination, Assessment and Re-assembly Procedures;
Installation and Configuring of Plant and Equipment;
Handover Procedures for Plant and Equipment;
Welding and Fabrication Techniques and Handling and Moving Loads
There is also the opportunity to obtain evidence towards essential Key Skills as required by Employers and Training Providers.
