EDEXCEL BTEC Level 3 Award in Visual Arts (Ceramics with Glass and Mixed Media)

Course Details

The BTEC Level 3 Award is a specialist programme of study that allows students to focus on a chosen area Ceramics with glass and mixed media. Understanding and use of visual language, written critical analysis and evaluation is an import element of coursework and the programme. Alongside practical work students are required to keep a sketchbook recording their creative development, including written technical notes, research and analysis. The course is made up of two specialist units which must be successfully complete in order to achieve the qualification. All units will be assessed and individually graded as 'pass', 'merit' or 'distinction'.

BTEC Level 2 Award in Visual Arts (Ceramics with Glass Mixed Media) other level 2 qualification and/or a specialist portfolio of work

Additional info:
Students may be asked to provide basic materials but some specialist materials will be provided. Clay will be weighed after firing and a small fee will be charged according to the amount used.

Progression:
On successful completion students may progress onto the OCN Access Diploma (Art and Design). Full time options may include progression to the National Diploma in Fine Art; exceptionally students may consider Foundation Degrees/HNCs offered at the Hull School of Art and Design.
