Is it right for me?
The safe use of mowers requires competent operators. This course covers both tractor'mounted and ride'on machines. There are 4 options for the type of mower cutting mechanism: cylinder, rotary, flail, reciprocating knife. You must be able to drive accurately and manoeuvre the mower skilfully and safely. You need to be able to assess the condition of the grass and adjust the mower to achieve maximum efficiency of grass cutting as well as carrying out routine maintenance.

Please note: The 2 hour assessment takes place on a separate day by arrangement between the candidate and the external NPTC appointed assessor.

What qualifications will I need?
Minimum age 16 years. Tetanus protection is recommended.

What is involved?
Two days training and one 2 hour assessment on a separate day by arrangement between the candidate and the NPTC appointed assessor.

What materials are required?
Overalls, safety boots and waterproofs. Notepad and pen.
PLEASE NOTE: All students must bring 2 passport size photographs on the first day of their course.
