Course programme

Why choose this course?

  • low self esteem causes poor performance, reluctance to take up challenges and high levels of stress
  • this stress can escalate until a practitioner or manager needs to take time away from work
  • this course is not therapy, although it has a therapeutic effect, but offers a powerful educational programme
  • the tools it teaches are both profound and accessible and will have a ripple effect in the workplace
  • true self esteem has no place for critical and intimidatory behaviour towards colleagues or users of the service but instead enhances partnership skills
  • without self esteem practitioners will not be able to enhance the self esteem of users of their services
  • positive results ~ individuals, teams and services can operate in a totally different way. One Community Learning Difficulty Team found as a result of doing the course together that their relationships with parents and carers changed from confrontational to working in partnership. Their ability to negotiate with other professionals with differing perspectives was also increased and the level of support they offered to each other deepened. Their work satisfaction increased and the young people and adults who were the recipients of their service got a more responsive service.
