We will teach the correct method of cutting and fixing plasterboard, and preparation of surfaces, in readiness to receive backing plasters, sand/cement, and other Gypsum based plasters (the application of plaster to damp-proofed areas, silicon injected, Bitumen based products). Suitable for: People looking to learn the skill of plastering, but have little or no experience. People from within the construction industry i.e. Painters, Decorators, Electricians, Plumbers or people wishing to tackle home improvement projects

Course programme

We will teach you the correct method of cutting & fixing plasterboard, the preparation of surfaces in readiness to receive backing plasters, sand/cement and other Gypsum based plasters. (The application of plaster to damp-proofed areas, silicon injected, Bitumen based products)

  • How to cut & apply angle beads to form external corners, window reviels & stop & drip beads.
  • How apply finishing plaster to backing coats, sand/cement, plasterboards etc.
  • How to re-plaster existing walls to achieve a flat level surface ready for decoration.

This course gives you all the information needed, to start a career, with confidence in the plastering trade, and can be used as a very good induction into the NVQ/ICA Awards.

Certification for this course can be used towards N.V.Q. units VR01, VR03, VR62, VR65, VR66, VR68, VR69 and VR71.

Tools and materials will be supplied however you will need to bring along overalls or working clothing. A change of footwear is essential!

A £90 deposit will be required upon booking your chosen course.
