Basic re-plastering of old damaged walls or the finish coat plastering of plasterboard or prepared base coats. The course is a foundation for basic hand plastering using mainly British Gypsum Multi Finish plaster to complete a polished level finish to any reasonably level surface. Suitable for: The 5 Day Foundation basic skills plastering course which has been designed for the novice. This course will provide you with the necessary skills, confidence and knowledge to complete most home DIY plastering projects. Many students have gone on to start their own very successful business. - Use of British Gypsum and Lafarge plaster board
- Base and finish coats
- Damage repair work
- Window reveals and pipe casings
- Ceilings
- Basic Dot and Dab plaster boarding.
What else am I going to learn?
Repair and re-skimming of damaged or old plaster walls, the materials and procedures required. The plastering course provides all of the basics to move forward and expand your plastering knowledge through hands on experience.
You will be using British Gypsum Multi Finish plaster onto plasterboard from the first day to the last on this hands-on one week intensive plastering course.
All materials and tools for the course are provided and we also have the facility to purchase the necessary tools at far better prices than the shop list price.
The course has a maximum of five students to one instructor and a maximum of eight students to the course. This ensures you will have as much one to one instructor interaction as you require. We endeavor to ensure that our one week plastering course is one of the best available.
If after one week of training with the Building Skills Academy you feel you have not learned enough or you are not confident we will at our own cost provide you with an extra day free to practice further. - Held at the Building Skills academy Newbury, just off the M4 and 10 miles from the M3
