About this course

The award comprises one unit, made-up of five sections, entitled ‘Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector’ (PTLLS), which is based on the teaching/training cycle. To achieve the qualification, candidates must complete both the theory and practice assignments covering all five sections.

This qualification has been designed as the appropriate introductory qualification for those seeking a qualification that entitles them to teach in either an ‘Associate Teacher’ or ‘Full Teacher’ role* in the Lifelong Learning Sector in England. It confers the newly required ‘threshold license to teach’ for all new teachers in the Further Education (FE) Sector.
