Description

The BTEC Level 3 90-Credit Diploma in Sport provides an introduction to the sports sector for people looking to build a career in sport, within one of its occupational areas. These include careers in exercise and fitness, coaching, sports development and the outdoors environment. The scheme is aimed at young players with aspirations to improve their football skills, but who also appreciate the importance of continuing their studies. It offers the opportunity to gain a recognised educational qualification whilst receiving top class football coaching and playing in the Football Conference Youth League (under 19).

· Requirements

Successful football trials and interview; 4 GCSEs at grade C or A BTEC level 2 Diploma in Sport at Merit level or equivalent qualification. In addition to your qualifications, you will need to supply a reference from your previous school, college or employer and complete a satisfactory interview. This course is open to both male and female footballers on the provision that we recruit enough footballers to make both a male and female cohort as the rules for the football leagues do not allow mixed teams to play.

Course programme

This is a one year course covering 10 units and is the equivalent of 1.5 A-Levels. It is predominately theory-based with some practical sessions on the timetable. During the course, you will attend football training, as well as classroom sessions that will cover a variety of issues within the sports and leisure industry.
