Teach the Teacher Course for Doctors

This highly participative 2-day training programme, which has CME/CPD Royal College approval, has been specially designed to give doctors the practical techniques, knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to enable them to design and deliver one-to-one and/or group teaching sessions.

We will help you to:

• Write learning objectives to meet identified teaching needs
• State what needs to be considered when preparing a teaching session
• Understand how people learn and which teaching methods can be used for effective learning
• Demonstrate effective listening and questioning skills when checking trainees' understanding
• Identify the key behaviours an effective teacher uses to create a supportive learning environment
• Design and deliver effective one-to-one and group teaching sessions
• Explain how to give effective feedback
• Demonstrate how to validate a teaching session
• You will receive a receipt for study leave reimbursement together with an official certificate of attendance for your portfolio

Course content covers many areas including group and one to one teaching techniques, handling different types of people, what makes an effective teacher and personal development plans.
